Introduction

These energy balls are great to make in bulk and store in the freezer so you can easily grab 1 or 2 when you need a healthy snack. They are ideal to provide energy prior to doing exercise such as a run, or just if you need a sweet treat mid-afternoon or after dinner.  They will provide you with fibre, protein and some healthy fats without the refined sugar you will find in most convenience sweet treats.

Method

Step 1. Add the dates, almonds, cacao powder, cacao nibs, and sea salt to the bowl of a food processor. While the food processor is running add in the water. Run the food processor until the date mixture forms a ball.

Step 2. Form the mixture into small balls with your hands and enjoy!
